Biography

Abigail Williams was born, probably Casco Bay, then York County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, about 1666 (assumes she was 21 at marriage), the daughter of Jenkins Williams and his wife, Abigil Cloyes. Then Abigail (Williams) Allen, she died, probably Manchester, Essex County, Province of Massachusetts, after 25 June 1725 (date deed executed).[1]

Abigail Williams married at Marblehead, Essex County, 17 March 1687, Samuel Allen, the son of Samuel Allen and his wife, Sarah of Manchester.

Jenkin Williams and his family removed from Casco Bay (now Maine) to Salem in 1675.[2][3] Jenkins died of Manchester, sometime before 6 May 1696 (date of estate inventory). On 25 June 1725, "Samuel Allen & Abigail his wife" sold their interest in the estate of "our hond Faher Jenkin Williams" to her brother, Daniel Williams.[4]

Samuel and Abigail (Williams) Allen were the parents of nine (9) children, born Manchester,[5][6]

  1. Sarah Allen, born 14 July 1687;[7] married in Beverly, 1 November 1707, Samuel Crow[ell].[8]
  2. Abigail Allin, born 20 June 1690,[9] died in Beverly, 18 November 1743;[10] married 16 December 1714, Nehemiah Presson of Beverly.[11]
  3. Samuel Allen, born 7. October 1692;[12] married Sarah Tuck.
  4. Hannah Allen, born 22 May 1695;[13] married Edward Lee.[14]
  5. Rachel Allen, born 1 October 1698.[15]
  6. Daniel Allen, born 1 August 1701.[16]
  7. Jeremiah Allen, born 26 June 1704;[17] married Lydia Tuck.
  8. Martha Allen, born 26 January 1706.[18]
  9. Jerusha Allen, born 24 January 1712.[19]
