Biography

Charles was born about 1830 the son of Charles Williams (1803 - ~1880) and Mary Ann (Coombs) Williams (~1807 - ~1881), and he was christened on the 5th September 1830 at St Germans, Cornwall.[1]

1841 Census on the 6th June 1841 Charles an agricultural labourer aged 10 was living at Treskelly, St Germans, Cornwall.[2]

1851 Census on the 30th March 1851 Charles a bootmaker, was living at 11 Cross Street, Devonport, Devon.[3]

1861 Census on the 7th April 1861 Charles a cordwainer (shoemaker), was living at 11 Cross Street, Devonport, Devon.[4]

1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 Charles a shoemaker, was lodging at 11 Cross Street, Stoke Damerel, Devon.[5]

1881 Census on the 3rd April 1881 Charles a bootmaker, was living at 11 Cross Street, Devonport, Devon.[6]

1891 Census on the 5th April 1891 Charles a bootmaker, was living at 11 Cross Street, Devonport, Devon.[7]

1901 Census on the 31st December 1901 Charles a boot and shoemaker, was living at 11 Cross Street, Devonport, Devon.[8]

Charles, of 11 Cross Street, Devonport, Devon, died aged about 76 on the 22nd April 1906.[9]

Probate of Charles' estate, £524 11s. 10d., was processed in London on the 19th May 1906 and passed to his sister Mary Ann (Williams) Sargent a widow.[10]
