I started my family tree on Ancestry in 2016, but my mother and some cousins had already done a lot of useful groundwork. Luckily she never threw anything away, so after her death I found a bundle of letters to her and my maternal grandparents written from my great grandmother in Australia in the 1950s. They solved the mystery of her date of death as nowhere was it recorded that she'd had a fourth marriage, and so there wasn't a surname to look for - her husband's name and approximate date of marriage were in her letters.
I love making my ancestors come to life, and their profiles will probably always be work in progress. I also love puzzles and researching which is probably an essential vice. The thrill of turning up that missing piece of evidence can't be beaten.
Born in England but living in France for 17 years at time of writing means it's impossible to research on the ground, but so much more is available and more easily accessible on line now.
Digital Afterlife When I finally shuffle off I want to be sure that none of my hard work on WikiTree ends up being deleted. While I fully intend on being around to manage all my profiles for the next 80 years or so (unlikely!), in the event of my sudden death I hereby give (and bequeath) permission for all of my private profiles to be transferred to anyone in the England Project, their executors, administrators, heirs and assigns, share and share alike equally betwixt them, to be disposed of as they think fit.

Hi there, According to Family Search, Samuel Shenton KZ34-ZLY (also son of Nathaniel Shenton K487-Q4Q and Lidia Teate MXKJ-DXQ) was born about 1728 in Alstonfield, Staffordshire and baptized in Loughborough, Leicestershire and married Sarah Brundley/Brindley (born in Alstonfield), not Sarah Wild (born in Leicestershire) - both Sarah's were born around 1732-33 and both married a Samuel Shenton in 1753 but in different places (i.e. Brundley-Alstonfield and Wild-Rothley). This Samuel Shenton is my 6th great grandfather and now I'm very confused! I always had him married to Sarah Wild but now Family Search is saying Sarah Brundley. I noticed in your research notes you stated "The barely legible page of marriages including Samuel Shenton and Sarah Wild has been crossed out and rewritten on the next page, probably at a later date, as Mary Wild. I believe this to be a mistake as the children's baptisms have Samuel and Sarah as parents." so I'm wondering if Sarah Brundley could be correct instead of Sarah Wild. Let me know your thoughts, and thank you, Barb West
I'm going to send you a PM as there's not enough room here to discuss theories :)

We are delighted to announce a new Profile Improvements Team namely the England Tangled Families Team which will be formed by merging the Arborists, Gedcoms and Unknown Teams,
As we know tangled families are created from old GEDCOM’s which cover many generations resulting in the need to merge profiles and having to disconnect others together with finding unknown spouses and family members.
The merging of the existing three teams into one exciting new team will hopefully reduce duplications and definitely will increase collaboration between you our experienced and dedicated members.
Team Leader for the England Tangled Families Team will be Fran Weidman who has agreed to manage the team bringing her excellent knowledge and experience from creating and managing the Unknowns Team together with Fran’s five year membership of the England Project.
Currently as a member of one or more of the named teams we are asking you to join our new amalgamated Tangled Families Team and letting us know by contacting Joan Williams or Malc Rowlands through Discord Messaging, England Project Google Group or Private WT Message if you want to join our new team.
Kind regards
Joan and Malc

Thanks, no I'm currently happy with what I'm doing, being involved in the Orphan Trail doesn't leave much time for other teams :)
I appreciate your concern, but the website no longer exists, and the recommendation to delete the links was given by the managers of WikiTree.
Kind regards, Gill.
I see that you now are the manager of Harvey-6261. I have been researching the extended Antwerp family of his wife, Agnes Gheens (Gheens-2), and am happy to share what I've found.
Best regards,
Joel Lefever

I'm fine, when I get stuck there are always people to ask, thanks for asking :)
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Based solely on your biography, I would like to suggest that the England Project could fit your current research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Please take your time. Accuracy is so much more important than speed on WikiTree. And please add locations, dates, and at least one reliable source to each profile, particularly any pre-1700s profile, before you leave it. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
Have questions? Reply to this comment or ask in the comments section of my profile.
