Hi David - thank you for being a member of the Jewish Roots Project! I wanted to let you know about some new things we have going on.

- You can see new tabs at the top of our home page, where you can select topics to view or work on. You can also use our new maintenance categories - feel free to add them to your own family, or any other Jewish Roots profile, or work on the maintenance yourself, such as adding new records to profiles with only a couple sources.

-I just approved your pending request on GoogleGroups, which we are re-starting this week. We'll probably do most group chat there, but the most important things will be posted on G2G, which you will be notified about if you follow the jewish_roots tag.

-You can also join Wikitree's discord server, where we have a Jewish Roots chat channel.

-If you have ideas or suggestions for the project, feel free to reply here or send me a message.

Thank you! -Elaine, co-leader for Jewish Roots Project

Hi, David,

Many congratulations on your graduation from OT1! I understand that you have expressed an interest in joining the Herts team - let me (as team leader) assure you that you will be very welcome. If you have not yet taken a look at our page (https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Space:Hertfordshire_Team&public=1), by all means do.

Of course the Herts team is for those who have relatives in Herts or ancestors from the county, but it is especially for those who care enough about Hertfordshire and its residents that they are willing to contribute some labour to make it a better place. Some people volunteer by reconstructing old canals, others by removing litter from the parks - but most of Team Herts does not live locally and our contribution to the county is to keep the number of Unsourced and Unconnected profiles as low as possible, as well as to find names for the people who are labelled Unknown and to attempt to respond to the automatically-generated Suggestions. If there is an area of expertise where you feel especially competent, do let me know.

I will hold off from enrolling you in the Team until I hear back from you, just in case you have second thoughts when you see the team page. Just get in touch when you would like to proceed.

All the best,

Russell Gerrard-621

Hi Russell,

Thank you for your message. I have read the Herts Team page and am happy to join the team to make the Hertfordshire profiles the best they can be. I have been a resident of Hertfordshire for the past 9 years and feel the team is a good fit for me. Should any task require an in-person visit, I am usually able to attend any cemetery, records office, etc.

What is the next step?

David

Hi David,

As you have been a member of WikiTree for a while now, I thought I would stop by to see how you are getting on with the site.

Has the New Member How-To been helpful, or left you with any questions? Let me know if you need any tips to help you get more of your family members added.

Please take your time. Finish one profile - adding locations (including countries), dates, and at least one real source - before moving to the next profile. And if you need help finding reliable information for your family members? The easiest way to find info and sources is to use the handy RootsSearch link on the right side of any profile. Use your WikiTree login to access over 20 websites. Once you find a correct source, copy and paste the citation info and add it to the profile. Learn more about sources here.

I am here to help with any problems or concerns you may have. To contact me, log into WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment so that I will be notified. Alternatively, you can click my name to visit my profile, where you can send a private message, or post a comment on my profile page.
