The name of the wife of Capt. David Lockwood of Greenwich is not yet known by an contemporaneous documentation.
A family register cited in Holden and Lockwood's Descendants of Robert Lockwood informs us that David was married on 9 April 1728, but does not give a name for his spouse.[1]
We estimate his wife's date of birth as around 1709, based on his birth in 1707 and their marriage in 1728.
David's wife died before he executed his last will on 29 November 1755.[2]
In a paper on Samuel Blatchey of Stamford, Paul Finch asserted that the mother of Sarah (Lockwood) Hoyt, daughter of Capt. David Lockwood of Greenwich, was named Sarah.[3] While this is encouraging, because it suggests there may be some evidence of her, such evidence is not provided in the paper, and as such, cannot be used to draw conclusions.

Deed research might give us more information about David's wife -- perhaps she co-signed a sale, or perhaps they were involved in transactions with members of her family.
