Biography

Anna (Thompson) McClanahan was born in Appalachia, in Kentucky.

Anna Pearl Thompson was born on 19 April 1929 at Frenchburg, Menifee County, Kentucky, United States. Her parents were Otto Thompson & Myrtle (Collier) Thompson.

In the 1930 census Pearl (age 1) was the grandchild of K H Thompson at District 1, Menifee County, Kentucky, United States.^[1]

In the 1940 census Anna (age 10) and siblings were in the home of their parents, Otto Thompson (age 35) and Myrtle Thompson (age 31) at Lemon Township, Butler County, Ohio, United States.^[2]

Anna married Allen Griffey between 1946 and 1949. Allen is seen alone in Middletown city directory of 1939 and 1944. He was in the US Army during WWII from 1943 to May 1946. He and Anna are seen together in the 1949 and 1951 city directories. They were residing at 1200 Grand Avenue.^[3]

In the 1950 census Pearl Griffey (age 20) was the wife of Allen Griffey at 1200 Grand Avenue, Middletown, Butler County, Ohio.^[4]

Anna & Allen have a daughter who is living in 2022. They were divorced sometime after 1951. She married Jack McClanahan on 18 Oct 1985 at Butler County, Ohio when she was 56 years old.^[5] Anna and Jack resided in Middletown and are seen in public records.^[6][7]

Jack (age 71) passed away on 6 Aug 2005 at Middletown, Butler, Ohio, United States. He was buried at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Butler County, Ohio.^[8]

Anna relocated to Tennessee, likely residing with family members in her latter years. Anna (age 88) died on 3 Feb 1988 at Jamestown, Fentress, Tennessee. She was buried with Jack at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Butler County, Ohio,^[9]
