Biography
Maria Thompson was born 06 October 1767, daughter of William Thompson and Catherine Ross. She married her cousin George Read Jr. on 30 Oct 1786. Together they had the following children:
- George Read III 1788 - 1836
- Gunning Bedford Read 1797 -
- William Thompson Read 1792 - 1873 (founder of the Delaware Historical Society)
- John Dickinson Read 1803 - 1831
