"Charles E. Theroux, 80, one of the oldest residents of the Woodlawn section where he had lived 60 years, died today at his home 866 Main street after an illness of several months.
"Born in Montreal, Quebec, he came to this country 65 years ago and took up residence in Central Falls. He moved to Pawtucket five years later.
"For many years he had been an automobile mechanic, retiring about 10 years ago, when he engaged in a small summer resort business at Ocean Grove, Mass.
"In years past he had been one of the most active members of Union St. Jean Baptiste d'Amerique and Societe Jaxques Cartier of which he had been drillmaster for a long period. He was also a member of Pawtucket Aerie of Eagles.
"He leaves his wife, Mrs. Marguerite (Limoges) Theroux, four sons, Arthur, Charles, Aime and Theodore, two daughters, Mrs. Elie Gravel and Mrs. Joseph Dumas, all of Pawtucket, 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a brother George Theroux of Fall River and a sister, Mrs. Desire Mageau of this city.
"The funeral will be Thursday morning at 8:30 from the L. Heroux & Son funeral home, 11 Ledge street, Central Falls, followed by a solemn high mass of requiem in St. Jean Baptiste Church at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in the family lot at Notre Dame cemetery."[2]
