Simon Theriault was born in 1777 in Madawaska, Aroostook County, Maine, USA, son of Joseph (Theriault) Theriot (~1743 - ~1803) and Marie Magdeleine Thibodeau (~1748 - 1823).

His siblings were:

Simon (~26) married Marie Rose Cyr (~28) (born in Ecoupag, York, Nouveau-Brunswick, Amérique coloniale britannique about 1775; died in Saint-Basile, Madawaska on 25 Dec 1861), daughter of Jean-Baptiste Cyr and Judith Marie Marguerite Guerette Dumont, on 19 Jul 1803 in St-Basile, New Brunswick Canada. Their children were:
