Henry married Adalaide Jacques Upham on 19 April 1870 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States.[1] Her parents were Don A. J. Upham and Elizabeth S. Upham. Adelaide is mentioned in a genealogy of the Upham family, saying that she had 3 daughters with Henry Bowman Taylor.[2] Her father's name is given there are "Hon. Don Alonzo Joshua Upham" and her mother's as Elizabeth S. Jaques.
They appear in the 1870 census in Chester, indicating that they were married in April of that yer. They are 40 and 20 respectively. He is in the retail hardware trade. They have one domestic servant.[3] By 1880 they had their first two daughters.[4]

In 1900 Henry was 70 and Adelaid was 50. two daughters were with them, Elizabeth (Jun 1874) and Caroline (May 1881). They have been married 30 years and Henry's occupation is "Gentleman". Adelaide shows 3 children born and 3 living.[5] In 1910 they are together at 81 and 60, with no other family.[6]
He died 24 Jun 1912 in the city of Chester. He was a hardware merchant with parents Joseph Taylor and mother Hannah Burdett. His wife survived him. Some transcriptions show him as "Harry B Faylor".[7][8]
Research Note
A Henry and Adelaide Taylor who had children in Michigan at about this time were a different couple.
Henry married Adelaide when he was about 40 years old. There is no evidence of a prior marriage, but it can't be ruled out.
