Biography
Joseph was born in 1804. He is the son of William Taylor and Elizabeth Hampton. Joseph was the tenth and final child of WTT and Elizabeth Hampton. He was almost seven when his father died. By the time of the division of his father's property his three younger siblings (Ignaitus 15, Elizabeth 11 and Jenefer 9) were living under their mother's care. Joseph inherited lot#3. He spent a lot of time in the courts possibly assisting his brother Tarlton who had been trying to get clear title to his father's property. After Joseph left VA for KY where he was married, he was difficult to locate his whereabouts. We know that his in-laws eventually settled in Indiana and a few of the Budd relatives inermarried with McGrew families who were in-laws to Joseph's brother Jenefer.
