Biography
Birden was born in Tennessee in 1809. He was the son of John Smith and Rebecca McCoy. He married Elizabeth Strange and had issue[1][2]. He passed away in Arkansas in 1863.
Research Notes
There is no need to doubt that Bird Smith's wife's given name was Elizabeth, as listed in the censuses, but we are lacking documentation that her LNAB was Strange. At least one researcher has her listed as Elizabeth Rudd[3]. More research is needed.
