  • First-hand information. Entered by Barbara Shoff at registration.

I am trying to find info on my immigrant Brady family. We know they were in the colonies in 1742 [date edited by Elizabeth Brady, 8/9/17] when Hugh Brady was 21. Would love to find marriage record to his wife (possibly in Ireland) Hannah McCormick. Would also like to know what ship they arrived on. These are questions that no one has yet answered.

Hi Barbara,

Just checking in with you about your blog. I noticed we don't have a URL for you on Help:Bloggers.

If you can let me know what that is, I'll get the page updated.

Thanks,

We share a 12th grandfather named Shevers. Who knew?

This comes from Shevers to Shivers to Garrett to Barksdale to Gilbert to Ward. Pretty cool!

Hi Barbara,

The Ireland Project (previously the Irish Roots Project) has now changed its structure into Teams. We require everyone with the Ireland Badge to be a member of at least one Team or Sub-Team and our google group. See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Ireland for details. The Teams are :-

1. Categories Team
2. Counties Team
3. Managed Profiles Team
4. Membership Team
5. Profile Improvement Team
6. Topics Team
7. Diaspora

? Can you let me know if you’d like to stay on in the new project and which team(s) you’d like to join. Please also let me know your e-mail address so that I can get you added to the project’s Google Group or confirm you are already a member of the google group.

Many thanks,

Maria

Hi Cousin Barbara,

I just wanted to say hello! And to share that we are 22nd cousins. Our common ancestor is Fenando Alfonsez (Castilla) de Castilla, King of Spain. (1201-1252). Wikitree ID: (Castilla-105). He is your 21st g-grandfather and my 23rd.

I don't know if you are aware that we also share 25 more ancestors after him up to 30 generations, who are monarchs of England, Germany, France, Spain, etc.

Beyond that, the older ancestral trail gets even more interesting to explore! Your roots are in the Monarchy of many different countries! There are ancestors, of yours, who you'd likely be astonished to discover!

Just wanted to share this information with you, and to say Hi. Isn't Wikitree Fun!

John Cruz when I saw your message I knew you and I were going to be related.

We are twice removed cousins through this guy: Fernando Alfónsez (Castilla) de Castilla (1201 - 1252) He is a grandfather to us both. Unfortunately I don’t have a line this far back. I am glad to see the name however since I try working forward often. Gigi

Good luck in your searches, I am curious to see about your Bell's and others, once you get them on the tree. If that's ok? Have a great day. =)
