Biography

Albert was born in 1884. He was the son of James Say and Esther Kendall. Albert was a butcher, who initially worked in his step-brother John's business and later had his own business in Paeroa and later in Auckland. He married Frances and they had 3 children together. He passed away unexpectedly in 1926 at age 42.

"Deceased, a highly-esteemed citizen, was well-known in Waihi having for years occupied the position of foreman in the shop of his half-brother, Mr. John Say. He left Waihi some five years ago to go into his own business and in the early part of the year engaged in a similar business at Otahuhu. A month ago he gave up the Otahuhu butchery and returned to Paeroa where a fortnight back he completed arrangements for the re-purchase of his old business. The late Mr. Say's health had been impaired for some time and at the time of his death he had been under a medical man. Deceased, who was 43 years of age, leaves the widow and three children, two girls and a boy, the eldest, a girl, being 14 years of age. "
