About the Project

The Price Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Price name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Price name.

As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Prices), by time period (18th Century Prices), or by topic (Price DNA, Price Occupations, Price Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

Also see the related surnames and surname variants.

Please could you add Peter Price (Pryce) Pryce-341 of Chirbury to the study.

He is the son of Edward Pryce whom married Mary Pryce at Chirbury in 1779.

I have him entered under both states. Thanks for sending the name along. Would you like to be added to the list of researchers?
I am profile manager, so yes if the study has a list of researchers. I have stood at Daniel's grave. I look forward to learning more about this family. Thanks from Jane

Denita, these Prices traveled so closely the area that my Henderson's did and I have a lot of Price's in my tree but I did not find the ones you have mentioned. I do need to do a lot of additions to WikiTree though on the different branches going out from mine and may run across a connection at some point. I would suggest that you also post this in G2G.

I am adding your name to the study also.

Hi, Looking for information that would either confirm or deny that we are in fact Prices. I'm not seeing the dna results I had hoped. My uncle's Big Y 700 (Gary Price) is R-BY65742. He has an exact match to a Furman but probably about 7 generations up to that shared ancestor. My grandfather was Jim Price, b. 1921-1982 Murray Co., /Dalton, GA. His father was Thomas Trammel Price, b. 1884-1938 Murray Co./Dalton, GA. His father was Thomas Worthy Price, b 1844/45 Tallapoosa, Alabama-1912 Murray Co. GA. His father was William T. Price (My road block) b appox 1825 in Alabama. Only 1 census for him and only 1 document recording his marriage to Sophronia Langley b. 1828 Monroe, Ga. They married in Tallapoosa so Sophronia's family was living there. We have tons of dna matches to her descendants. I have no dna matches and my family has it wrong in their tree on Ancestry, despite evidence. We are not related to William Carroll Price (who lived in Al but burried now in TN). We also use familytreedna.com to no avail--meaning no connections to Prices. William T Price must have had a sibling or parent, unless there was an informal adoption or a child taking a step father's name in the case of a death.
