Biography

Emerancy was born in 1834 to Jairus Miller (1800-1885) and Jane (Quale) Miller (1809-1885). She died in 1923.

In 1850 Jarias Miller (50, b. MA, farmer) headed a Middlebury, NY (Wyoming County) household with Jane Miller (40, b. NY), Jane A. Miller (16, b. NY), Orville W. Miller (13, b. NY), Mercy R. Miller (10, b. NY), Emma L. Miller (female, 6, b. NY), Luella Miller (2, b. NY) [Serrella in data base], Persilla Miller (80, b. MA), and George Gleason (16, b. NY). George Washington Gleason (1835-1863) was a cousin of Emerancy's mother.

In 1880 a William H. Ewell headed a Middlebury, NY (Wyoming County) household with wife Emerancy Ewell (46, b. NY, father b. MA, mother b. NY; Emuancy in database), daughter Manie Ewell (24, b. NY, both parents b. NY), son Frederic Ewell (21, b. NY, farm laborer, both parents b. NY), son Frank Ewell (19, b. NY, both parents b. NY), son George Ewell (17, b. NY, both parents b. NY), daughter Ella Ewell (14, b. NY, both parents b. NY), son Elmer Ewell (12, b. NY, both parents b. NY), and son Mead Ewell (4, b. NY, both parents b. NY).

married William H. Ewell 20 Oct 1852.[1]

Family noted that Emerancy married William Ewell and they had 8 children including Meade, who had daughters Wilma Ewell (b. on 29 Feb) and Lovina (May?) Ewell Chamberlain.

The 1850 census of Middlebury, NY (Wyoming County) included a household headed by Harrison Chamberlain (36, b. NY, farmer). A Reuben Chamberlain (81, b. NH?) was in the household.
