We have updated the Poland Project News Page with new updates. Please take a moment to look through the information.

Thank you for your commitment to the England Project and its goals in 2023! Together we are making English WikiTree profiles the best they can be!
I'd like to share our end-of-year 2023 Newsletter. You can read it here: England Project Newsletters. We hope you enjoy reading about what we have achieved in 2023!
On behalf of all the England Project Leaders, we wish you a peaceful, productive and enjoyable 2024!
Best wishes,
Joan, England Project Leader
I see you were able to get a Y-DNA on your Kendro male relative. That's an exciting breakthrough, especially for Hungarian-Slovakian research. I was also able to get two cousins to test Y-DNA for my Slovak surname.
It is once again time for our annual Ireland Project check-in. Please respond within the next three weeks to let us know:
You can respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within the next three weeks we’ll assume your interests have changed or you no longer are able to participate in the Ireland Project at this time, and your badge will be removed. If your circumstances change later you will be welcome to reapply for membership.
Many thanks for all that so many of you have contributed to the project in the past year, and very special thanks to those who answered the project’s call and gave generously of their time to be part of Team Seanchaithe during the most recent connect-a-thon. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
le dea-mhéin, Jen Hutton, Ireland Project co-leader
I'm happy with my current team and level of involvement. I think the current membership requirement is fine. I typically spend 1-5 hours a month improving Irish profiles and clearing suggestions, with much more time devoted to research for myself and others.
Best, Kelly
Just checking if you received the message I emailed about the Poland Project's Google Group. If you did receive it and you aren't interested in joining, that's fine. However, if you didn't receive it please let me know.
Thanks,
Tina
The Poland Project Coordinators: Skye, Tina & Maggie
Thanks for your reply. We have two teams that deal with Data Doctor suggestions. See: Volunteer Tasks
Would you like to be placed on one of them?

Also, we would really like to hear which team is currently your highest priority. If you are a member of more than one team, could you please rank them from highest priority to lowest? Thank you! If you don’t see yourself as being part of a team, please let us know.
We also welcome any feedback on things you would like to see the project do more of in the future.
I look forward to hearing from you. Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message.
On behalf of all the Leaders, thank you again for all you do and we look forward to you continuing to be a part of our collaborative and fun Project!
Kind regards,
Joan, England Project Leader
Thank you for getting back to me. I am glad all is well. Hopefully it will not be too long before you can make a start on OT3, but we only have a few trailblazers for OT3, so there is often a wait. Thank you for all you are doing on WikiTree. Regards Joan
it's annual check-in time 2023. If you still wish to remain a member of the Germany Project, please reply to this post, by stating this intention. If we don’t hear from you in the next 30 days, your membership badge will be removed. In this case please don't be offended ... you're welcome to rejoin at any time. Please also note, that in order to receive help, with researching your German ancestors, membership is not mandatory. Just ask your questions in the G2G forum and tag them with Germany in order for knowledgeable people to see them.
If you wish to remain a member, we would like to learn more about your perception of the Germany Project in order to achieve a future development according to our members needs and wishes. For this, we created a survey, which we kindly ask you to fill-in.
In case you want to communicate, discuss and receive help about WikiTree in German, you might want to check out the WikiTree category at Compgen’s Discourse as well as the German Discord server Ahnenforschung.
Of course there’s still the official WikiTree Discord server, where we usually talk English. Feel free to learn more about Discord and the server at Help:Discord.
Kind regards from Black Forest

It’s Germany Project check-in time again! Please respond within the next 2 weeks and let me know if you’re still interested in participating with the Project. Remember, the only requirements for membership in the Germany Project are (1) that you work on at least one German profile every 6 months and (2) that you respond to this check-in.
Since you’re not working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams yet, please look at our main Project page for a full list and let me know which team you’d like to join.

We're so happy to see you are still active on WikiTree and caring about the Dutch profiles. The Dutch Roots Project is looking forward to give the project a new fresh start to put the Dutch in a more prominent place on the WikiTree map. The project is currently managing over 50,000 profiles and the total number of Dutch profiles on WikiTree exceeds 500,000! Within the project we are monitoring the quality of the Dutch profiles and assisting other WikiTreers in producing those profiles. We would love to pick up some other tasks but to do so we need more volunteers. This is why we check in with the members of the DRP to see if you would like to help us expand.
1) Would you like to do some volunteer work for the Dutch Roots Project? 2) If yes, what kind of work would you prefer to do within the Dutch Roots Project? E.g. translating, sourcing, or something else you want to work on?
We hope for a positive reaction but please don't feel obliged to volunteer. We just want to have a group of persons we can ask to help us with certain activities
Kind regards,
Jan, on behalf of the Dutch Roots Project
I'm keeping quite busy right now, but I can commit ~5 hours monthly to Dutch profile improvement. Feel free to message me if you have something specific in mind, and I'll otherwise work on clearing out error messages for profile improvement (including looking for sources on unsourced profiles).
Best, Kelly
Thank you so much for your speedy and positive reaction! We are currently composing a list with the areas of interest as indicated by the respondents. I gather I can put you on the list with Sourcing and Data Doctoring as focus, limited to ~5 hours/month. Soon as we have gathered and processed all reactions we hope to get back to you with proposed specific activities. With near to 40K of unsourced profiles and 100K of suggestions something fitting all respondents should not be too hard to find...
Thanks again, have a nice day!
Jan
We are currently assembling provincial teams. Seeing your profiles are mostly in Overijssel, I added you to the Overijssel team, assuming that's OK with you.
To be continued...
Jan, on behalf of the Dutch Roots Project
I will look to see how you edited the inline citations and learn for future use. I appreciate your help! Morgan
For in-line citations, the referencing code formats each citation as a footnote; when everything is correctly formatted, there will be a hyperlinked number that can take you directly to the reference. There are two components to this code: sandwiching the source between <ref></ref>; tags, and keeping the <references />; tag at the very bottom of the page. The <ref></ref> tags are used to tell the program what should appear in footnotes versus main text, and the <references />; tag "reads" all text from the beginning of the page up to itself to search for in-line citations to format as footnotes.
For more info, you can check out the Citation Guide. Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy your time on the site!

(edit: I have linked all the names; with all the repetition, I hope it makes it a bit easier to follow!)
The Rookmaaker (1989) text cites a genealogical account from De Nederlandse Leeuw Maandblad (1911) by Wildeman, which states that Johanna Maria Heijdenrijck is the daughter of Johan Anthony Heijdenrijck and Drieske Hoenders. However, there's another source, a biography of Menso Heijdenrijck written the year he died, that gives Menso's parents as the same Johan Anthony and Drieske. From the dates given, she simply could not be the daughter of Johan Anthony and Drieske.
I believe that Menso was, in fact, the father of Johanna Maria:
There is another Johan Antony Heijdenrijck, the son of Menso Heijdenrijck. This Johan was born in 1712 and could not have been the father of Johanna Maria, who was born around the same time. With all of this together, I find it highly likely that the 1911 source simply missed one generation of the Heijdenrijck family. The 1724 source is almost certainly more reliable given the recency of the events it describes.
If you have any other questions or theories, please do let me know!

At our Dutch Roots Project page you can find all project info .. if you still have questions or need some help feel free to ask, we're all happy to help :)
Here's a direct link to our most important links for info for and about Dutch profiles. And here's the latest Project Update. (our Dutch Naming Convention and the part about the LNAB (=Last Name At Birth) are the most important and will help prevent duplicates ;) )
Good luck, have fun and thanks for joining !
Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.
If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources; find or merge duplicates; clean up GEDCOM or merged biographies; or interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far?
One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that I found very helpful. I hope that you will too.
Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful? Most of us still have some questions after reviewing them.
I'm here to answer those questions or help with issues about how WikiTree works. You can reply to this comment or send me a private message.
Debi ~ WikiGreeter
PS If you get a "Page Not Found" error when clicking WikiTree email links, you can often find a working version in the public comments on your profile.
Thanks for having a Big Heart and adopting Orphan Profiles. You will want to read this After adopting orphans FAQ to understand what to do next and it explains the special attention those profiles need.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
David
You may want to use your own surname in the Last Name at Birth field. This will ensure that your profile is listed on the correct surname page with other members and ancestors who also have that surname. Our naming conventions can be found at Name Fields.
If you are concerned about Privacy, click the Privacy tab on your profile or visit our Privacy help page to read about how the different settings work.

I am pleased to confirm and welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site
Happy tree climbing
