Ephraim Jones was born at Concord, Massachusetts on April 30, 1679, son of Samuel and Elizabeth (Potter) Jones. He married on April 15, 1701 at Concord, Hepzibah Chandler, daughter of Roger and Mary (Simonds) Chandler. She was born about 1683. [1][2][3]
He was killed by a falling tree October 10, 1710 at Concord. [1][2]
Samuel Jones of Cambridge and Samuel Chandler of Concord, provided L200 bond for the relict widow, Hepzibah Jones, in the administration of her late husband Ephraim's estate. [4]
In addition to household and personal items, arms and ammunition, and some livestock, his estate included a homelot of 99 acres with dwelling and barns valued at L160, a lot in Boston, half ownership in a sawmill, and a partial ownership forge and related tools. His widow Hepzibah presented the inventory to the court on November 21, 1710.[4]
He is buried in the South Burying Place at Concord. His inscription reads:
HERE LYES ye BODY OF EPHRAIM JONS AGED 31 YEARS DIED OCTOBR ye 7 1710[5][6]
After his death, his widow Hepzibah married Joseph Fletcher. [3][2]
