Good Luck David Paul Dwyer
Checked church records and can confirm Baptism (Not birth) of Richard to Thomas Dwyer and Mary Dalton 17/05/1863, in Parish of Listowel, listed as residing in Shrone, which is in the Barony of Iraghticonnor and Civil Parish of Aghavallen. Godparents - ??? Dalton and Eliza Dwyer. I have a copy if you want it. [email address removed] Tried to check civil records for other children from 1864, but the website is down. David
I have added the Badby part of Bird-12245's biography - I was looking for Birds in Badby as a DNA match of mine is from this family, I and have Birds in mine - I'll tie the two familes together if I find the evidence.
Best wishes,
Pat
We've put together a survey for you to fill out to check in with you, it will only take a moment as there are only a few questions. Filling out the survey lets us know you are still interested in coordinating your study and provides an opportunity for you to share any suggestions you may have for the project.
If you have decided to step away from your study, please reply to this comment to that effect.

Philip Vercoe is my 4th Great Grandfather - I have been putting things together in my family tree for a couple of years (still getting the hang of it really!) Thank you for all of the work you have done to find this info, it has been so amazing seeing all the connections. I am struggling with my Grandfathers side currently- its stops at him because no one knows anything about his parents, has been frustrating, but very cool to see Mums side grow.

My name is Allan Marsh and Philip Vercoe was also my 4th Great Grandfather. Through Catherine Vercoe, then Catherine McGregor onto Ellen / Helen Cracknell. Would be interesting to compare notes sometime. My email address is [email address removed] I was born in New Zealand but now live in Brisbane aged in the mid sixties. Hopefully this finds you well and enjoying life. Any words of wisdom or help to steer me in the right direction would be much appreciated. Regards Allan Marsh. 10 July2023.
Philip Vercoe is also my 4th Great Grandfather and I may have some further information in a box of information passed to my from my mother and aunt. Please let me know how far back you have gone with the Vercoes. Apparently a large number of Vercoes moved to New Zealand. My ancestors arrived into New Plymouth on the 23rd February 1843 and were born in Cornwall. Please let me know if this matches with your information, or if you may be from a different Vercoe.
Kind regards Debbie Cavit
I find it very sad for Philip Vercoe Sr. One son left in 1838 for NSW (he needs tracking down). His wife died then four children left for NZ in 1841, one daughter stayed behind and then died in 1849 leaving him alone.
There is another couple of branches of Vercoe's in NZ. One is Henry John Vercoe (1799-1862) a grt uncle the four that came from memory. He was more affluent than the mason's that came to New Plymouth from the looks of it. The Vercoe/Lawry names are inter-twined as a Vercoe married a Lawry and their daughter married a Vercoe.
The four came on the Timandra but another line also came on the Cadaceus I believe. Once you connect in you will find it easier to work out who is who.
A heartfelt thanks to you.
Regards, Keith Cashman.
Cheers

I am new to all this. I have been searching for family and came across Arthur Edmonds born in Christchurch, New Zealand, son of Sarah Ann Middleton Irvine. Can I please just clarify a few things? He was actually born in 1880. His father was Edwin Timothy Edmonds. Edwin and his brother Thomas James came to NZ from London, on the Waitangi in 1879. Edwin and Thomas married sisters, Sarah and Jane (Elizabeth Middleton Irvine). You have all Arthurs siblings names correct. I am a descendant of Thomas and Jane Edmonds. I would love to help more if needed, also to connect with others. Kind regards, Kate Parsonson [email address removed]
I do a lot of work connecting profiles to the main tree and is probably how I ended up working on that one. The Arthur birth date looks like a typo as the source has 1880. Have fixed it up.
I find a good way to connect up with others is to check all your grt grandparents etc and see their descendant lines. https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Irvine-Descendants-3839 Working all the lines down and their spouses until public records end can find others already on Wiki Tree

Thanks - Alwyn
And what do you know of Alice and Edward Hindley? Who actually raised Ruth? What do school records say of her?

I am Philip Goatly. Winifred Violet Goatly was my grandfather's (Percy Ernest Goatly) sister. When I was a little boy aged about 7 years old my grandfather would show me newspapers from his sister Winifred from New Zealand.
What is you interest in Winifred?
Cheers, Phil.

I actually commented to my family about the name. It is not known in NZ. Winifred and her sister are the only two entries of the name on NZ's BDM. Their should be a death under the name though as a newspaper article states a Leonard Goatly, out from England, drowned in Gisborne, NZ, in 1912. Any idea if he is connected with your family?

We do have 3 marriages, 17 deaths, and one birth under Goatley.
Thanks for creating and researching all those Ashley profiles. I often add more recent grandchildren to that “Needs profiles created” category once I have found the births. Sometimes I start with one family, and creating profiles for them feels never-ending. Fiona

Just found this site tonight so am still finding my feet. Am also new to geneaology but I'm in Blenheim so have access to Brayshaw Park which has some interesting Vercoe family history info. Not to mention the live ones that are in plentiful supply here. Regards Buck
Apologies getting back to you. Some time ago, you messaged me requesting a NZ maintenance category. You should find that has been done
