Biography
Hippolyte Després ("Paul" in his baptism record) was born on 26 Jan 1846 and baptized on 2 Mar 1846 in Cocagne, New Brunswick, the son of Jean Despres and Seraphie Surette.[1][2]
Hippolyte married Madeleine Melanson, daughter of François Melanson and Eulalie Léger, on 21 Nov 1870 in Cocagne.[3][4] A dispensation was granted for 3 degrees of consanguinity (they were second cousins, view relationship).
In the 1881 census Hypolite, age 36, farmer, was in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[5]
In the 1891 census Polyte, age 46, was in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[6]
In the 1901 census Hipolite, age 52, cultivat'r, was the head of household in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[7]
He died in Cocagne on 15 Nov 1932.[8]
