Born Percie Chater Charlton on 9th April 1867 in Surry Hills, New South Wales (Australia), he was the third son of Thomas Charlton and Mary Farrell. [1] He was an uncle of the New South Wales state cricketer Claude Tozer, and also of the Olympic swimmer Andrew 'Boy' Charlton.
Percie Chater Charlton was an Australian cricketer who played in two Tests in England in 1890. He played first-class cricket for New South Wales from 1888 to 1897.
During this his only tour of England he scored 534 runs, average 14.30. And with his fast-medium bowling he took 42 wickets, average 19.04. Unfortunately, ill health limited his cricket career.
Percie Charlton attended Sydney Grammar School and went on to become a highly qualified dentist. He graduated from the Harvard University School of Dental Medicine and is also believed to have studied at both Edinburgh University and Glasgow University. He later taught Dentistry at the University of Sydney.
Percie married Florence Bradford on 15th May 1894 in Neutral Bay, New South Wales. [2]
He passed away on 30th September 1954 in Pymble, New South Wales. [3]
