Biography
Mahala Caton was born October 31, 1804 in Kentucky, daughter of Jesse Caton and Esther Sparks. In 1821, she married John B. Carter (1790-1870); they had six known children. Mahala died five years after John on September 8, 1875 and was buried at Sumner Cemetery, Wheatland, Hickory County, Missouri. John was interred at Switzer Cemetery in Linn County.
