Notes
Some online trees give Russell Coats as the husband of Esther. This does not appear to be correct as the tombstone of Esther Brown Coats gives her birthdate as November 22, 1776. [1] It is more likely the correct Esther Brown Coats was the daughter of Nehemiah Brown and Rebecca Lewis, also of Stonington.
