Her year of birth could be any time from 1821 to 1836. The 1860 US Census says she was born in 1821,[3] the 1880 Census says 1826,[4] and her death record says 1836.[2] Unless she had a prior marriage, it is doubtful that she was 24 or 29 when she married Juan María. Fourteen is a bit young in 1850 but possible. More research is needed.
There is some confusion regarding her mother. Her marriage record lists her mother as María Samora. However, her father's mother's name was also María Samora. Since María Samora sounds almost identical to María Simona, I think it is likely an error by the priest recording the record.
