James W. Leach, the man who arrived in Salem, Ohio in fall of 1809, and died there in 1888. He was a machinist. He lived on Depot Road, Salem, OH. He is buried there at Hope Cemetery. He was one of the founding members of the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Salem, and that Church still exists there now called United Methodist Church.
