SCOGGIN/s Arkansas, proof of death sought.

Question

I have records for two generations of SOGGIN in Arkansas. please see the wikitree pages for lots of records.

The Father Isaac Scoggin Sr. (Wikitree Scoggins-139) was in 1840 census of Izard Co Ark. His widow Sarah (last name not well established) appears in 1850 as widow.

His son Stephen Scoggin (Wikitree Scoggins_138) was in the 1860 census of Independence County and his widow in the 1870 census. Wife Martha Welch.

We can presume the decade of death but I MUCH prefer documentation and citations. ANYTHING?? please ? Obituary? Probate? Property tax records? Court records? Church records? (they were big church participants)

Have you looked through the digital records in the FamilySearch catalog for Independence, Arkansas?

Land deeds and tax records may help you pinpoint the year. I saw that he was on the tax record for 1861. I attached that record to his FamilySearch profile.

I was able to find his son George W Scoggin in the tax record for not him. Not sure how to follow your addition to the profile? do you have a volume, page or entry info for the 1861 tax I can search for? maybe a specific page link?  I'm trying to find where it was I got his birth day??? I didn't take notes like I should have in my earlier days.
