Help us find and improve next week's Connection Finder profiles: London Westminster and Middlesex

This week we're checking in on the latest WikiTree Challenge to benefit the London Westminster and Middlesex Family History Society. We'll be featuring the profiles they worked on in the Connection Finder next week, alongside a few other notables from the region, like Duchess Barbara Palmer, mistress to King Charles.

Here's who they're working on:

Who else should we feature? We have room for eleven notables. We can't feature everyone who is nominated, but if we don't feature a profile you work on, we may use it sometime in the future. And, of course, all contributions help improve our shared tree.

Our choice of features will depend partly on the notable person's CC7, i.e. their connection count within seven degrees. The more connections they have, the more likely it is for all WikiTree members to find a close and interesting connection to them. So, if you nominate someone, please help grow their CC7.

We'll make a final decision on which ones to feature early next week.

Please reply here with what you're working on so that we don't duplicate our efforts. Thank you!

Take note that this is not the place to discuss why you think we shouldn't feature someone if those reasons are due to politics, actions, or opinions of those being suggested.  Mentioning things like their not being connected, their biography still needing work, erroneous information, etc. are all suitable for discussion here and an opportunity to correct those situations.

Help us plan Connection Finder themes for 2023 here.

It looks like this went live and then was hidden.  I'm getting "This question has been hidden by its author" from the link on the main page.

Just mentioning it in case that was a mistake.  Feel free to delete this message.

Thanks, Steve, for mentioning this!

I had wondered where the next EPOW instalment went as it should've been scheduled for Aug 28 (two days ago now). Your comment explained it for me. Now, I only hope that someone takes action to make it accessible in G2G again ...

How about author Sir James Matthew Barrie? His iconic Peter Pan (Peter and Wendy or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up) debuted in London in 1904. He passed away near the Great Ormond Street Hospital, where he gifted the entire copyright of the Peter Pan collection.

He has a decent starting CC7, but it could probably be improved quite a bit.

Peter Pan related individuals would be a good theme for a separate connection finder.

Great idea Russell.

As his most famous work, it certainly stands up over time as well or better than his much more highly acclaimed colleague’s legacy publications such as The Seagull (Chekhov) or Waiting for Godot (Beckett).

Thanks, Brian. And noted, Russell.

We could feature engraver Leonard Charles Wyon, who (along with his father) was responsible for Victorian era coin designs in the United Kingdom as well as other parts of the British Empire.  He is connected (CC7 as of writing is 527), has a portrait, as well as a sourced biography.  He appears to have spent most of his life in London.
