Searching for John Boyer in Canal Winchester, Ohio

In the book, History of Madison Township, Canal Winchester, and Groveport Ohio ( Geo F. Bareis 1902 ) page 164, it is noted;

In 1832.....a two story hewed log house on lot No. 2, occupied by John Boyer, a cooper and basket maker;  Mr. Boyer had a family of 17 childeren, but this was not an unusual number for those days;..."

I am hoping to identify people researching this family.   This is the only mention I  have for him and suspect my Eli Boyer may be from this linage.  I have traced several Canal Winchester Boyers but cannot prove anything about John Boyer.
