If you are looking for a specific individual, go to your profile page and enter the first and last names in the search boxes at the top of the page, click on the magnifying glass to search. You can sort the resultant list to make the list easier to evaluate.
You can also click on the Find menu at the top of your profile. From this menu, select Search, and enter your search parameters this can focus your search.
If you search with only a last name you will get a list of all persons with that name.
These searches will also search for variants of the name; you will have an option to use exact spelling, if you choose. In my experience exact spelling gives a better list, but that may depend on the name.
