New to Genealogy, I have a lot of information on my mothers side, but very limited on fathers side

I just wanted to introduce myself, and seek out some help!

I'm fairly new to genealogy but my maternal side kept astounding amount of research for their side of the family so that's pretty neat!  

I am trying to get more information on my biological fathers side of the family tree, I am only able to go as far as my great-grandfather with any degree of certainty, beyond that it's just guessing! I've looked at some information on FamilySearch that I think might be relevant, but it could be a completely different person!

Hello Cody,

Don't be reluctant to ask questions. Do you have the birth year and location of your maternal great-grandfather? You could also include his wife's first and maiden names.

As far as your paternal side, you could indicate the same kind of information on those grandparents, country, state or province, county and city, including birth and marriage years.

Hello! Thanks for the quick response, I was getting acclimated to this site and trying to figure out how to get everything over from FamilySearch! I have a lot more information in now, I am working on getting all of my mothers side of things over now!

Cody, it looks to me like the next thing you should do is add some ancestors to your profile.  Once you add a few generations, you could be able to link into WikiTree's shared tree, but it's hard (for us) to tell until you begin.

P.S.  It looks like you might need to sign the Honor Code and become a full member in order to have full freedom to add ancestors.
