Melvin was born in 1920 to Jacob Zack and Rose Moskowitz.

The marriage took place Nov. 17 at Hanford, Calif., and was attended by Mrs. King and Mrs. J. E. Zack.

The bride graduated from the Nevada high school and later attended the University of Kansas where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. In August of this year she enlisted in the WAC. After receiving her basic and specialists training at Ft. Des Moines, Iowa, she was sent to Lemoore, Calif., where she is now stationed with the A. A. F.

Corporal Zack graduated from the University of Kansas where he was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, professional music fraternity, and Phi Kappa Lambda, honorary musical fraternity. At present he is stationed at Kelly Field, Texas.

DR. MELVIN ZACK

College Music Instructor Was 38 Years Old.

Funeral services for Dr. Melvin L. Zack, 38, an assistant professor of music at Los Angeles State College, were held Saturday in Alhambra, Calif. He died Thursday at the home in Rosemead, Calif.

Dr. Zack was born here and was graduated from Central high school. He studied at the Juilliard School of Music in New York and received his bachelor, master's and doctor's degrees in music education at the University of Kansas.

He taught in the Kansas public school system and in 1953 was an assistant professor of music at the University of Kansas.

Dr. Zack was a member of several music fraternities, was past president of the Southern California School Piano association and president of the Western Regional Music Therapy association.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Betty Zack; a daughter, Miss Ruth Zack, and three sons, Paul Zack, James Zack and Danny Zack, all of the home; a sister, Mrs. William L. First, Spokane, Wash., and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Sali Moskowitz, 7801 Holmes road.
