Biography
Francesco Zabbia is born on 12 July 1864 in Corleone and baptized the next day. He is the son of Antonino Zabbia and Giuseppa Paternostro. His godparents are Vincenzo Riina and Lucia Liggio.[1] Francesco is named after his maternal grandfather; his namesake was named after his maternal grandfather.
Francesco appears on the manifest of the Kronprinz Friedrich Wilhelm, sailing from Palermo via Naples and arriving on 17 October 1894 in Ellis Island. He and at least sixty others from Corleone are aboard and destined for the port of New Orleans.
