Louisa Maria Young was born on 11 September 1878, in Denmark Township, Tuscola, Michigan, United States as the daughter of Oscar Holmlund Young and Anna Lovisa Larsson.

She married Frank George Johnson on January 1, 1901, in Swan Lake, King, Washington, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 3 daughters. Louisa M Johnson is listed as divorced in the 1920 Highland, Benton, Washington census.

She lived in Buhl, Twin Falls, Idaho, United States in 1910; Benton, Washington, United States in 1920; and Seattle Election Precinct, King, Washington in 1940.
