I was born on October 7, 1949 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. Sponsors at baptism were: Marc Bessette and Mrs. Edward Bessette (Geraldine Hoffman).
My father, Wilbur "Bill" Pearson, was 30, and my mother, Sylvia L Bessette, was 31. I was the third of five children - three brothers: Gary, Mark Andrew, and Brian David, and one sister, Diane Lynn.
In January of 1950, our family moved from my maternal grandparents home (Silvia's parents) on Sheridan (east side of Detroit) to Dearborn Township (later became Dearborn Heights), a new suburb west of Detroit. Initially, there was no telephone service. My mother would get messages from the monks at St. Bernard Seminary from my dad as necessary.
Education: attended Clara B. Ford School for Kindergarten; Our Lady of Grace Grade School in Dearborn Heights for grades 1-8 graduating in 1963; Rosary High School in Detroit (9th grade) and St. Alphonsus High School in Dearborn graduating in 1967. College: Wayne State University in Detroit, Bachelor of Philosophy from Monteith College in 1977, and Master of Science from the School of Medicine in 1983.
Marriage: I married Charles Leonard Johnson, son of Irving Johnson and Alice Elaine Gunther, on May 22, 1987, in Ferndale, Oakland, Michigan. We are the parents of Erik Scott Pearson Johnson, born August 20, 1989 in Dearborn, Wayne, Michigan.
Residences: I was born in Detroit, grew up in Dearborn Heights, Wayne County, Michigan, and lived in Detroit; Pleasant Ridge, Oakland County; and moved to Yakima, Yakima, Washington in 2012.
My interest in genealogy grew after a visit to my mother's home in Letellier and Mariapolis, Manitoba in the 1970's on our way to Aspen to visit my sister Diane. We noticed that Letellier was only a short distance from Fargo, North Dakota so we took a detour. It was exciting to meet relatives, listen to exchanges in French, visit the farm built by her maternal grandfather Adolphe Fortier in Letellier, and meet a woman who knew her mother and father in Mariapolis.

She left to join the Mormon Church and the Strangites. I have a tree on ancestry, com but I don't want to copy her information here. Would you take a look at it? Eunice Ross had a 1st marriage and her married name was Franklin. Then she and Avery were married in Berrien Michigan. It appears that Avery had more children than the ones that are isted here.

Thank you for improving the Pearson profiles I have been creating for US Black Heritage! I am big on research and adding all the documents I can find, but not so big on stopping to write biographies. I appreciated your additions. Some of these profiles I have on my list to add more family. I often have 30 or 40 tabs open at a time when adding families, so have to bookmark some people to come back to :-) Emma
Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, thus coordinating with others is essential.
