Eliza (Wood) Atwood, daughter of Joseph Wood and Elizabeth Pruet, was born about 1845 in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana.

In the 1880 census Eliza (age 33), Keeps Restaurant, was the wife of William Atwood in Davenport, Scott, Iowa, United States.[1]

Marriages and Children

Married 1st: Eliza married William Atwood (age about 41), son of Daniel Atwood and Sarah (Fowler) Atwood) on 25 August 1863 in Elkader, Clayton, Iowas.[2] They had one son:
  1. William, born about 1867 in Wisconsin.[3] Apparently died young because he does not appear with William and Eliza in the 1880 census.
Married 2nd: After William's death on 1 February 1890, Eliza married Charles B. Kaufman, son of Henry H. Kaufman and Doris Christorf, on 9 December 1890 in Davenport, Scott, Iowa.[4]
Divorced: Eliza and Charles were divorced on 3 March 1911 on grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment.[5]
Married 3rd: Eliza remarried Charles B. Kaufman on 18 April 1911 in Davenport.[6]

Death

Died: Eliza died on 9 February 1923 in Davenport from infirmities of old age.[7]
Buried: Eliza was buried on 11 February 1923 at Oakdale Cemetery in Davenport.[8]
