Susanna Wood (or Woods) was born on 2 May 1807, and christened on 14 Jun 1807 at St Mary's Church in Manchester, Lancashire. She was the daughter of William and Sarah Wood.

Susanna married James Chadwick on 7 Jan 1834 at Manchester Collegiate Church in Manchester, Lancashire, by licence. Neither had been married before, and both were 21 or older. James was a watchmaker of St Helens in the parish of Prescot; Susanna was of the local parish. The witnesses were Mary Ann Baron, Thomas Parry and B. Challinor?.

Their son William was born on 12 Dec 1834, and christened on 11 Jan 1835 at Tontine Street Wesleyan Chapel in St Helens, Lancashire. The family's address was recorded as St Helens; his mother's parents were named as William and Sarah Woods.

Their daughter Eliza was born on 22 Jan 1836, and christened on 25 Feb 1836 at New Chapel in Baldwin Street, St Helens, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as watchmaker, and the family's address as St Helens.

Their son Ebenezer was born on 25 Dec 1836, and christened on 12 Jan 1837 at New Chapel in Baldwin Street, St Helens, Lancashire. His father's occupation was recorded as watchmaker, and the family's address as Eccleston.
