Susanna was born in 1645. She is the daughter of John Wood and Elizabeth (______) , later Parsons. ^[1]

Susannah Wood, widow of Josiah England, married Ephriam Carpenter at Oyster Bay, 3 December 1677. Susannah born probably Portsmouth, R.I., perhaps about 1647, died probably Musketa Cove, before 1 July 1693 (in 1684?), she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (______) Wood of Portsmouth^[2]

There is some dispute regarding the surname of Ephriam’s second wife. While Daniel Hoagland Carpenter gives it as ENGLAND, Gene Zubrinsky in Descendants of William Carpenter of Providence at https://carpentercousins.com/wc-662-desc/aqwg02.htm#2555 states her birth name was WOOD, daughter of John & Elizabeth WOOD and that she was the widow of Josiah ENGLAND!
