Early Life

Louis Wintersgill was a White male born on 25 October 1922[1] in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania to Albert Wintersgill Sr. and Lillian Josephine Neuhart.[2][3] While he did have a half-sister named May Ellen, he appears to have lived with his brother Albert Francis and his mother as a child. In the 1930 census, he lived with his mother and his brother along with two lodgers, Robert Pfhal and Andrew R. Shankle, at 332 East North Avenue, Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania and attended school at the time of the census recording.[4] In 1935 and 1940, he lived with his mother at 1207 Boyle Street, Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. He no longer attended school by the 1940 census recording, and was listed as having completed ninth grade in high school. While he was unemployed, he did have other sources of income.[5]

On 30 June 1942, Louis was drafted by the United States for World War II, though it is unknown in which branch he served. At the time of his draft, he lived at 1203 Boyle Street, Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania with his mother and was unemployed at this time. He was described as a White male who was 5 feet and 7.5 inches tall and weighed 132 pounds. He had brown hair, brown eyes, and light skin. He was described as having a scar on his right eye.[3]

Later Life and Death

Louis died in April 1979.[1][2] He may have been buried at Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Cemetery in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania in plot 0-M-19 in an unmarked grave.[6]
