Lillian Josephine "Lillie" Neuhart was a White female born in June 1893 in Pennsylvania to Henry Neuhart and Regina Vogler.[1][2][3] By 1900, she lived with her parents; her older brothers Joseph, Henry, William,[4] and Samuel;[5] and Adam Leoniker at 299 Journal Street, Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. She was recorded as single and attending school for nine months at the time of the census recording.[6] By 1910, she lived wtih her mother and her older brothers Samuel and William. She was recorded as single, being able read and write, and beign able to speak English. She worked as a box maker at a box factory and was recorded as not attending school since 1 September 1910.[1]
Marriage and Family
Lillian married Albert Wintersgill Sr.[3] between 27 April 1910[1] and 9 February 1913. On the 1930 census, she was listed as first being married at 17 years old, or around 1910 or 1911.[7] On 9 February 1913, she gave birth to her first child Albert Francis Wintersgill Jr.[8] at her home at 612 Kilbuck Street, Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, which was recorded as a legitimate birth. She worked as a housewife at this time.[9] Around 16 June 1916, Lillian filed a lawsuit against her husband and was appointed masters for this court case, in which John E. Laughlin was appointed as her lawyer.[10][11] Around 21 July 1916, Lillian filed for divorce against her husband from the recommendation of John E. Laughlin, citing desertion.[12][13]
By 1920, she lived with her mother and her brothers William and Samuel at 1305 Gerst Way. She was listed as single and did not work.[2] As her ex-husband Albert Wintersgill lived with in the household of his second wife, and neither household is recorded as housing their son Albert Jr., it is unknown where her son lived during the recording of the 1920 census. Two years later, on 25 October 1922, she gave birth to her second child and Albert Wintersgill Sr.'s third child Louis Wintersgill.[14][15] It is unclear under what circumstances Lillian carried Albert Wintersgill Sr.'s second child after their divorce, but it appears that she raised her children singlehandedly. By 1930, she rented a property for $35 a month living with her two children Albert Jr. and Louis, and two lodgers, Robert Pfhal and Andrew R. Shankle at 332 East North Avenue, Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. She was recorded as divorced and not attending school since 1 September 1929. She worked as a housekeeper at an apartment house.[7]

Before Lillian's death, she lived in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, ZIP Code: 15212. Lillian died on 15 June 1970.[16]
