John Alfred Windeyer was born on 4th May 1822 at London, Middlesex, England. He was the eighth of ten children of Charles Windeyer and Ann Mary Rudd.
He migrated with his family to New South Wales aboard the Sarah in 1828[1].
He married Anna Maria Kesterton on 07 Nov 1855 in the Church of England, Monaro, New South Wales.[2][3]
