Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating private message with anyone who shares the same ancestors. Here is my family tree.
My mother was a Frethey (a Cornish surname) and most of the Fretheys in New Zealand are related. Thomas Frethey (1808-1893) my great-grandfather arrived in New Zealand in 1841. Anither branch is from Ireland; my great-great grandfather was Rev Frederick Cassidy (1812-1890) a Church of Ireland (i.e. Episcopal) minister. I have dates for most of the Frethey BDM events in New Zealand. As with other family, most checked with the New Zealand Registrar-General's historic website (by restricting the dates searched between, down to an exact date!). I also have an Ancestry Public Tree (Frethey and Wilson Family Tree).

John,

I added Lloyce Ferne Dickinson and Doris Hope Dickinson, children of Leticia Ferne Ruckle formerly Roseveare. I removed myself from the trusted list of both of them. Feel free to add their children. Marilyn

Hi Marilyn: As they could be living (?) and would require private profiles, I would rather leave the info with you. I have found Letitia’s ancestors 4 or 5 generations back and requiring new profiles in between. Yours, John

John,

Thank you for your question as to whether Leticia Roseveare-139's third husband is Louis Ruckles (not Ruckle)? I don't believe so. Her headstone shows the spelling of Ruckle and Louis' birth certificate shows him as Louis Danial Ruckle, as well as census records, marriage, government draft records, etc. I don't see the spelling of his last name in any of those records.

Hi John

Thank you for the info on Alan Wilson of Wellington. My Allan Charles Holland lives in Invercargill and is still alive with his wife. Thank you

Hi John

Your {{Member|ONS|name=Rosevear} is missing the last } so it isn't working. I've added some new Rosevear categories, including one for Rosevear Profiles in New Zealand as a subcategory of Rosevears by country. If there are any categories you would like to use, either send me the detail or feel free to create it yourself. I will create categories for Rosevear descendants by country as well, in the hope that listing descendants will be useful for DNA confirmation.

Hi Gary: Re George Roseveare- I looked at his 1924 ITM in Archives where he was a hotel porter, res Christchurch 2½ years and aged 40 so born about 1884, or earlier than the given age at death indicates..

Re the 2005 book, I know it was expensive as I arranged purchase with the remitting of money for several (4 or 5?) copies to New Zealand (by bank telegraphic transfer to America). Re the authors Bruce and Linda Greenberg in Virginia, Linda is shown as a Rosevear on page 208. I sort of lost touch with their enthusiasm for Donald Trump! Some sections do have more details than others eg date and place rather than just year. Some people just have a second or third marriage to (?) but nothing else known. And quite a few typos and a page with some children appearing twice on one page, but no gross errors?

I am linking some people back to their 18th century ancestors, which can mean creating profiles for three or four generations in between. I will certainly add the category Roseveare in New Zealand! I want to create categories for Frethey in NZ and a Frethey one name study (Frethey/Freathy/Freethy/Frethy) are from Cornwall; around Lostwithiel and St Veep near the River Fowey) . Yours, John Wilson

Hi John

Have you requested a Frethey study from the ONS yet? I find that name cropping up from time to time in my tree and would be keen to add people to a ONS when it's up and running. I have practice with setting up categories so can assist if you have problems, I found the help pages somewhat less than clear.

Hi John

I see you have been working on our John Walter Stoddart’s profile. I have updated it as some of the info from the Dempster family book is incorrect. I have the family’s passage records going to USA and a find a grave type photo of his fathers grave, Margaret’s in Memorium card and also discovered the connection to the Todd cousin who helped John Walter purchase the Kapuni block, ( mentioned in the book). I am happy to share any of what I have if you are interested. Margaret Margaret Hunt nee Stoddart, father David Bryce, grandfather Gordon Bryce, G Grandfather Bryce, GG John Walter.

Hi Margaret:

Yes, I would like to extend the Stoddart entries (and othes) on WikiTree. Yes, there are some errors in the Dempster Famiy Tree book of 1976, but mainly omissions (my copy of the book is filled with pencilled additions! Yours, John Wilson
