Biography

Ebenezer was a Friend (Quaker)

Married 1st Jehoaden Schooley (Moore 10) and 2nd Sarah Knight. Ebenezer was born 1739 at Maiden Creek, Philadelphia Co. (now Berks Co.), Pennsylvania. He is buried at Hardwick Friends Yard, New Jersey. He worked as a collector for Independence Township in Sussex Co. (now Warren Co.), New Jersey, in 1788. Ebenezer married Jehoaden Schooley in 1758 at Kingwood Friends Meeting, New Jersey, and had 8 children, according to research by M. C. (Willson) Vail. W. C. Armstrong indicated there were only five children listed in Ebenezer's will. Those listed were David, Jonathan, Phebe, Edith and Mary. In 1802 he married Sarah Knight, the daughter of Joseph and Rachel Knight of Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. It is known they resided in Allamuchy, Warren Co., New Jersey. (Willson 21)
