Biography
Katherine Willms was born on 20 Jul 1874 in the Russian Mennonite community of Berdyansk, Taurida Colony, Zaporizhia Oblast, South Russia (Ukraine). She was the 3rd of 4 children of Peter Heinrich Willms and Elisabeth Wiens.[1] Her father was a successful grain merchant. In later years, they lived on a country estate at Berjansk, an elegant resort and spa area on the north coast of the Sea of Azov. They had 7 servants.[2]
She married Abraham Peter Jantzen on 25 Jun 1871 in Berdyansk. They had 10 children.[1]
Katherine passed away in about 1941.[1]
