Elisabeth Willms was born on 7 Dec 1871 in the Russian Mennonite community of Molotschna Colony, Zaporizhia Oblast, South Russia (Ukraine). She was the 2nd of 4 children of Peter Heinrich Willms and Elisabeth Wiens.[1] Her father was a successful grain merchant. In later years, they lived on a country estate at Berjansk, an elegant resort and spa area on the north coast of the Sea of Azov. They had 7 servants.[2]
Elisabeth married Heinrich Jacob Fehderau in about 1894 in Berdyansk, Taurida Colony, Zaporizhia Oblast, South Russia. They had at least 2 children.[1] Her husband passed away in 1927.
She immigrated to Canada in 1947.[3]
Elisabeth died of cancer on 7 May 1948 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and is buried at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines, Ontario.[2]
