Samuel was born in 1894. He is the son of Samuel Williams and Clara Wigley.
BIRTH
4 Jan 1894 according to Royal Navy record. This is probably right.

Whilst this record clearly stated 4 Jan 1893 on the original, it was the Minister probably just writing the previous year in the margin out of habit. As Tom Miller pointed out, we all do this at the beginning of each year!

This record says he was a Cotton Porter. There is also mention of desertion, 42 days "det." and that he was retained for further service with RN...
No mention of whether single or married. There's a suggestion he had a marriage before Lucy bu tthe there is no trace of this.

NB Lucy had a son between marriages. Could Samuel have been the father?

Is this them? If yes, then where is Cyril? Also her birth woyuld be wrong here... No, NOT them...
In fact it seems she ran off, taking Cyril with her, in the early 1920s.

Cyril George P Williams
An Ancestry tree has Clara (b 1925), Nellie (b 1929), Dorothy (b 1931) and Vera (b 1933), all to a mother Goodall before they were married. So perhaps Lucy died in about 1923...

DEATH
is this him? If yes, then it is probable that he had split from Mary Annie, because when she died, in 1950, she seems to have been living under the name of Brenton, same name as her son-in-law. So she took up with his father but never married him?

On the 1939 Register, Mary Annie's name has been crossed out and replaced by BRENTON.... and there is a death in 1950 of a Mary A BRENTON, aged 49, which fits with her given birthdate. Did she marry a BRENTON after Samuel's death, and then her daughter also married a BRENTON? Of course, that would mean Samuel died earlier On the Mary Annie BRENTON burial (13 June 1950), she is named as "otherwise WILLIAMS", address 51 Shaw Street, so that might imply there was no marriage.
