Ebenezer was born about 1757. He was the son of John Williams and Martha Heritage.

Ebenezer Williams enlisted for six months as a private soldier in the Revolutionary War, October 1780. He was at the time of enlistment living in Hampshire Co. Virginia. He served for six months under Captain Isaac Parsons and Col. Fox. In April 1781 he again enlisted and served for six months under Captain McFeeley. He received a pension until his death for his services in the Revolutionary War. [1][2]


John Andrew Willliams, the son of Columbus Newton Williams, applied for membership in the Empire State Society of the Sons of the American Revolution by right of lineal descent from the line of Ebenezer Williams, the father of Abraham. The application was examined and approved 5 February 1942 and approved by the State Board of Management on 5 February 1942, SAR Membership number 61104, state number 7009, NSSAR Patriot Ancestor SAR 320643. Pension Number: S*W4391

Ebenezer Williams married Catherine Jones (1763-1850) ca. 1781 and lived for several years in Fayette Co., PA where their 9 children were born, including;

John Williams 1782-1783
Aaron Williams 1786-1879
Abraham Williams 1790-1857
Sineah Williams Hanna 1801-1875

Most of the children came to Ohio and about 1836.

Ebenezer and Catherine came to live in Portage Co., where he died on 19 Feb 1841. He was buried in the Windham Cemetery, Windham, Portage County, Ohio. [3]

Catherine moved to Fayette County, Pennsylvania in 1799 and died in March 1846 (1850) in Stark Co., where some of her children then lived.
