In 1915 he crossed the border from Canada, to port of Newport, Vermont, United States. [Here he writes his middle name Abraham.] He was 31 years old and states he previously lived in the United States from 1907 to 1915 in "various" places. Paid for passage himself. His destination was home of his uncle Hugh T. (Jones). (Hugh Jones who lived in Marlborough, New Hampshire.) He lists the Seaport and Date of Landing as Boston, May 23, 1907 on SS Ivernia (?). Purpose in coming was "Permanent". [4]

John registered for Military Service on Sep 12, 1918, during the First World War. He lived in Marlborough, New Hampshire and was a Paving Cutter at Webb Granite Company. [6]
On April 27, 1942 he registered for the Military Draft during the Second World War. He was 57 years old and unemployed. He indicated "Left hand Maimed". [8]
He died in Marlborough, New Hampshire on Mar 21, 1950. [9] and is buried in Marlborough at Pine Grove Cemetery. [10]
