Gary was born in Prinville, OR and lived there for the first four years of his life. His family then moved to Culver, OR where he lived until graduation from High School. After High School he attended Oregon College of Education at Monmouth, OR for three years. He married Sandi Powell in 1969 and together they moved to Ellensburg, WA where he graduated from Central Washington State in 1971. Gary later attended University of Phoenix graduate school and earned an MBA (with honors) focused on Technology Management.
During his professional career Gary worked for a variety of businesses both public and private. He worked in the aviation sector for several years in several businesses involved in aerial application, helicopter services and airline operations. He also worked in the forged pipe fittings industry for several years. In his 40s he began working in the public sector at the city, county, state and national levels. It was during this time that he began working with geographic information systems and became a geospatial systems engineer. The rest of his working career was as a geospatial systems engineer culminating in working with the military for many years.
During Gary's working career the family lived in a number of places. These places included Oregon, Alaska, Texas and North Carolina. While working with the military Gary and Sandi also lived in England for some time.
In 2015 Gary and Sandi began preparations for full retirement and sold our home in TX and purchased a home in Hot Springs Village, AR. We were attracted to the area because of our love for mountains, trees, and beautiful scenery.
Gary was baptized into the Lord's church (church of Christ) during his teen years and was a faithful and dedicated member throughout his life. He also served in various capabilities including deacon and elder. He regularly teaches Bible classes and fills in preaching on an as needed basis.

My aunt Dorene Williams Ashcraft has been our Williams family historian for most of my life. She worked diligently in researching our family information and history. From her I became interested in our family history and became involved in tracing our family genealogy. My main focus has been finding out where we came from and why our family has migrated as we have.

Recognizing that we are all mortal, I hereby request that upon my death, all of my managed profiles of deceased persons including my own profile should be set to full open status. (Please add my year of death.) I would then welcome any relative to become profile manager and continue this labor of love which was started so many decades ago.

As it stands now, WikiTree has me as "third cousins 6 times removed" to Lewis, but that's with his questionable parents & Peyton-432 attached to the parents the Peyton Society says aren't his.<sigh>
Your tree's private, so I can't see what WikiTree might find for us, but you can (my tree's public). Go to http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Relationship (which should autofill one side with your WikiTree ID - Williams-42141) & add Noland-165 in the blank. Let me know what WikiTree finds! (It'll pick one relationship to show, but then there'll be a box on the right with additional options - that's where it gets fun :D)
As I say in a comment on Peyton-221: Not quite sure who this Valentine was or will be. For now, he's just a collection of (mis)information. He's NOT the same Valentine as the one you just created. I think that Valentine should probably be merged into the one who married Sarah Randolph: Payton-679.)
Cheers, Liz
Just checking in with a few quick tips:
Free Space pages are wiki pages for supplementing your family history. They can be used to profile anything of significance such as a special pet, a meaningful event, a school you attended, a family heirloom .... They're "anything pages".
Not sure what to include in a profile? Check out our Biography Ideas and Styles and Standards help pages.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, please ask!
