Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. Mother was Audrey Allie Hastings, born in Toronto, Father, Aubrey Elmo Williams, born in Toronto. Older sister Ruth Hastings Williams. Mother's family came from England and Ireland and settled in Fenella and Stouffville, Ontario, Canada. Dad's family were American, first settling in Connecticut and then the Berkshires, Massachusetts and in 1817 Avon, Ohio. He is mentioned in the Hamlin Family Book (Andrews) as Robert Williams. His father made a mistake registering his name -his mother had wished he be called Robert Aubrey! His ancestors were John Williams and Clarissa Hamlin Williams who came from Massachusetts to Ohio with their 8 children in 1817 and settled in Avon, Ohio. There is quite a bit of information in the Avon Historical Society as well as some conflicting information as two branches seem to be claiming John and Clarissa as their ancestors. My information is correct as far as it goes but there is some confusion as to John Williams' family. We always believed his parents were Isaac and Delight Williams, farmers from Norwich, Ct. The conflicting information has the family coming from Marlborough, Massachusetts.

We would like to add Canada Project as a manager for Dr. Charles Hastings. I've written to you before with instructions on how to do this. Could you please add Canada project as a manager to his profile? If you have any questions how to do this, please contact me.
Thanks,
Dave
Canada Project
Thanks for contacting me. We managed to get your grandfather set up so we can honour him as part of our Canada Project.
We now have duplicates for his wife, your grandmother Allie Hatch. I've set up a merge. If you click your approval of the merge, then I can complete it. WikiTree rules do ask that we have only one profile for each person.
Thanks!
Dave
Im fairly new also to wiki tree but have been doing my genealogy for a few years. One of the Williams that interests me is buried in a historic cemetery of old Wethersfield Connecticut. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Williams-18175 Elisha Williams (1694 - 1755) he is a distant cousin who at first I thought was directly related however the Williams name comes up often in my tree at different angles. I have photographed the cemetery and visit at times. Love this mans history. My Crane surname is also in this cemetery. Ill check my connection to Esther Jane Williams, the swimming champion and actress! Wikitree is fun!
We have a distant relationship to https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Williams-73379 Esther Martecca (Williams) Trombly (1895 - 1961) who married into my Trombly side. She is the spouse of my 2nd great uncle George Alex Trombly. Im still working on George Alex Tromblys Children
Welcome to Wikitree if I can help in anyway let me know.
Kind regards Andrew
