DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Chris or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
Chris Williams:
Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 111 markers, haplogroup R-M269, FTDNA kit #B530060, MitoYDNA ID T11453[compare]
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Chris Williams:
Family Tree DNA mtDNA Test Full Sequence, haplogroup J1c5, FTDNA kit #B530060
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Chris:
Chris, I noticed you have a bit of Mark Hamill's family in your Ancestry tree. Could we interest you in our week of collaborative research into his ancestry on October 6–13? Here's the scoop:
If you head to Mark Hamill's profile and pull down the "Hamill-277" menu, you can see the "Connection to Me" and "Relationship to Me" tools. It looks like you're 25 steps away but have no cousin relationship on WikiTree.
I’ve still not heard back from you about your interest in the Wales Project so I’m going to assume you are no longer interested in joining at this time. You would be most welcome to join anytime in the future.
I sent you a private message a week ago regarding your interest in the Wales Project and have not yet heard back from you. Did you receive it? Please can you PM / e-mail me your e-mail address and team(s) selection so I can get you into the project? If I don’t hear from you by this time next week I’ll assume you no longer wish to join the project right now but you would, of course, be welcome to join at a later date.

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.
Everything on WikiTree is a collaborative work in progress so dont forget to read and sign our Honor Code. This is what keeps WikiTree a friendly and helpful community. We have many friendly members, feel free to ask if you have any questions.
Hi, I've been researching my family tree for a few years with various degrees of success. I'm hoping that adding my information to WikiTree will open up some brick walls.
And DNA too! Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.
I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to great instructions on adding a GEDCOM to WikiTree that you might find helpful.
If you have any brick walls, collaboration might help bust through. Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out. ANY Wiki Genealogist can edit "Open" profiles (over 200 years old = open). There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: brickwall

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.
